BASF PA25X is a versatile anionic surfactant with excellent dispersing properties and environmental benefits. It is widely used in industries such as detergents, water treatment, and coatings, effectively enhancing product performance and quality while meeting environmental requirements.

Product Characteristics

1. Chemical Properties:

PA25X is a sodium salt of an acrylic acid polymer with anionic characteristics.

Appearance: Light yellow transparent liquid

2. Physical Properties:

• Solid content is approximately 45%.

• Average molecular weight is approximately 4000.

• pH value (10% active substance in aqueous solution) is approximately 8.

• Viscosity (23°C, 60 rpm) is approximately 40 mPa·s.

• Density (23°C) is approximately 1.26 g/cm³.

3. Performance Advantages:

• Excellent dispersing performance: Effectively disperses inorganic fillers such as calcium carbonate and TiO2, preventing sedimentation.

• Enhanced cleaning power: When added to detergents, it disperses and suspends solid dirt, preventing redeposition and significantly improving cleaning efficiency.

• Environmental friendliness: Serves as a builder additive for phosphate-free and low-phosphate detergents, making it an ideal substitute for STPP (sodium tripolyphosphate).

• Low odor: Due to low residual monomer content, the product has a mild odor.

• Reduced dosage: High solid content allows for appropriate reduction in usage amount.

Application Areas

1. Detergent Industry:

• Widely used in various forms of cleaners and detergents, particularly suitable for household and commercial laundry cleaning.

• For general detergents, the recommended dosage is 1.25%; for concentrated detergents, the dosage is 3-4%.

2. Water Treatment:

• Used in the treatment of cooling water and boiler water to prevent scaling.

• Also applicable in liquid evaporation and concentration processes in papermaking and mining industries, as well as in oilfield drilling and water injection.

3. Coatings Industry:

• In latex paint systems, primarily used to disperse inorganic fillers such as calcium carbonate and TiO2, improving the stability and performance of coatings.

4. Other Fields:

• Can be used as a surfactant in plastic additives, pigments/dyes, rubber additives, and other areas to enhance product stability and performance.
